Shimun A. Ilyayev founded Shim Law Group, P.C. to give clients in Queens and across New York the kind of direct, personal attention that gets lost at larger firms. He works every case himself, from the first phone call through resolution, and he built the firm around that principle rather than around volume.
Mr. Ilyayev graduated from CUNY Queens College in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, receiving an award of honors, and went on to the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, graduating in 2022 while working full time at a law firm. He passed the Uniform Bar Examination in July 2022 and was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in June 2023.
Focusing on Family & Divorce Law, Personal Injury, Immigration Law, Real Estate, and Debt Collection Defense, Mr. Ilyayev is known for innovative strategies and a deep-rooted commitment to justice. He is a current member of the New York State Bar Association.
Emanuel Kataev brings over a decade of experience in labor and employment law to Shim Law Group. Since 2013 he has represented employees in wage disputes, wrongful termination claims, discrimination cases, and retaliation matters across New York.
